Our client is looking for an Assistant Editor to help them make sure that everyone affected by dementia receives the right information, at the right time, in the right format.

This role is an exciting career development opportunity to support and contribute to their hard-working and creative Publishing team. You will be writing, editing and proofreading information for people with dementia, carers, health and social care professionals and the general public.

You will create and maintain processes for producing, developing and disseminating content. This will focus on achieving high-quality and consistency, and continuously improving their resources. You will also facilitate the involvement and representation of people with dementia, carers and other users in the development of their information. This role will also provide administrative and process support, and generally support the wider work of the Publishing team. You'll also contribute ideas to develop and promote their information offer and the vision and values of their client.

About you:

They are looking for a candidate who has experience in a publishing role. You will have excellent editorial skills including writing, copyediting and proofreading. You'll also have a meticulous attention to detail and impeccable grammar and spelling.

Additionally, you'll be a first-class organizer who can work on a number of projects simultaneously and deliver to tight deadlines. You'll also need to have excellent communication skills to liaise with a wide range of contacts, organisations and communities.

Experience of working to a quality information production system (such as the Information Standard) and an understanding of health and care issues that affect older people would also be advantages in this role.
